How Vision Works

We use vision for almost everything in our lives, but have we really thought about how we see things. First there has to be light to see things. The cornea is the part of the eye that bends and focuses the light before it enters our eyes. The next part is it has to go through the lens of the eye, which is behind the pupil. From there the light travels to the vitreous body. After that it finds its ways to the retina, which is the light-sensitive membrane on which images are cast by the cornea. They names of the light sensitive cells are rods and cones. The rods let us see in dim light. Cones let us see bright light and color. Light stimulates rods and cones in the retina, and a nerve impulse is transmitted to the brain through the optic nerve. Then you can see. You can also test the sharpness of your eye by reading an eye chart from a certain distance.

Christians

In the beginning people used to make fun of Christians. They got made fun of because of what did. A reason they got made fun of was because they worshiped God. What some people did was they would believe in God and they would get persecuted. They got thrown in jail by kings and got executed. Think about how Noah felt getting laughed at doing what God was talking about. Everyone thought he was crazy. He realized that all his work paid off and he and his family didn’t die from the flood just because God told him too and he would live.
Some reason they also got persecuted is because they were jealous of some people. Think about Daniel and the lions den. He had three other brothers. The brothers were jealous of him because he was the kings favorite. They got so jealous of Daniel that they threw him in a lions den. When they threw him in the lions den he started to pray to God. Even though he was scared he believed in God and God helped him. Another example is Meshach, Shadrach, and Abednego. One day they decided not to worship the king. The king got really mad and he started thinking of what to do to them. The king kept asking them to worship him. They didn’t. He finally put them in a burning furnace. They prayed to God to help them. So the king had just put them in roaring big flame and made them stay in there. The king finally thought it was enough time so he pulled them out. When they came out the didn’t have any flames on them or any ashes. The Lord had helped them.
Some people must have thought the Christians were strange for doing all of that stuff. If they didn’t believe in God when those events happened then they would have been killed by a lion, burned into ashes, and died from not building the ark. In the end I think the Christians are proud of what they did for not only for themselves but for God too.
